Electric boom launch from Collé

Collé Rental & Sales has launched a fully electric 28m working height boom lift.

The Collé SPS E-280TJ was developed and built in partnership with Smart Platform Solution (SPS), based in the Netherlands, as lower CO2 emissions, less fuel consumption and less engine noise becomes the norm in the market.

Based on a Manitou 280TJ, the machine is part of Collé’s major investment in the electrification of its range of machines for rental and sales to meet this ‘green’ market demand in the countries it serves, the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium.

“As a partner for innovation, we are constantly working on ways to make working at height smarter, more efficient and more sustainable. Our innovation team works closely with specialists,” explained Michiel Kokkelmans, sales director at Collé Rental & Sales.

SPS is one such partner. The SPS E-280TJ is powered by an electric motor with a battery capacity for one to three days, depending on the work. According to SPS it performs better than the diesel version. A 400 volt (16 amp) connection is enough to recharge a fully discharged battery pack within 10 hours. Another advantage is that the noise level is well below 80 dBA.

The platform can reach a working height of 27.75m, has four-wheel steering, a lifting capacity of up to 350kg and an articulating jib. It is also available with large 4m and 5m wide baskets.

“It is very important to Collé Rental & Sales to do business sustainably. With innovations like this, we have achieved our targets to reach level 3 on the CSR Performance Ladder. This also contributes to the structural reduction of our CO2 emissions,” said a Collé spokesman.
