Kennards Hire’s entire network of more than 170 branches in Australia and New Zealand has been certified to the AS/NZS 4801 Occupational Health and Safety Management System.

Kennards said the certification highlighted the family-owned company’s commitment to effective safety practices and to operating ”beyond industry best practice standards.”

Angus Kennard, CEO of Kennards Hire, said: “Having everyone going home safe each day is our number one priority. Having recently been recognised as one of Australia’s top 10 Best Places to Work, receiving the AS/NZS 4801 certification is further evidence of the value we place on making sure everything we do meets the highest safety standards.”

Kennards Hire has implemented an internal audit program for the past 50 years, with each branch inspected by a team of auditors three times a year to ensure that customer service matches expectations and that equipment is in good condition.

Chris Meehan, Australia and New Zealand General Manager – Operations and Training at BSI, said: “Kennards Hire has demonstrated their commitment to health and safety by gaining certification to AS/NZS 4801, a widely recognised Occupational Health and Safety Management System standard.

”By achieving this, they have embedded policies, procedures and controls needed to achieve the best possible working conditions at all levels of their organisation, which will help them to continually monitor and manage health and safety risks.”
