The road tunnel, situated west of the city centre, was serviced by the specialist tunnel maintenance Solar unit during night hours, while it was closed to vehicles.

The aim was to demonstrate the features of the equipment to maintenance contractors, including the ability to drive and steer the machine from the basket. The Solar, which is available in two models, the Solar 11 and Solar 15, with 11m and 15m working heights respectively, can also be operated without stabilisers, and has a 4m lateral outreach.

The demonstration tour across Belgium has been carried out with local sales partner Allift-Michielsens and has resulted in praise for its performance and its simplicity and versatility of use, said the manufacturer.
