Manitou has delivered 10 high capacity articulating booms to Australia-based Coates Hire.

The 45ft working height 160ATJ+ lift can carry up to 400k in the basket. Coates has placed an order for a further 31 high capacity Manitou platforms to be delivered in 2019, bringing its total Manitou MEWP fleet to more than 80 units in Australia.

The Manitou 160ATJ + is part of the ATJ Range, with its maximum capacity of 400kg, for up to three people, and its large basket size of 2.4m x 0.9m.

“Only recently over the last 18 months we’ve dabbled in Manitou Access. Especially around the booms and some of the smaller products, but I would say the 160ATJ+ is a successful product in the access range. it’s really starting to kick some goals for us,” said Daniel Goodfellow, category manager at Coates Hire.

The platforms include three steering modes, hydrostatic transmission, 4WD, heavy duty axles, underbelly protection and can handle gradients up to 40%. “We’re a big island that you can fit Europe inside of so the wide spaces of this country has some logistical issues, but the product seems to tackle that landscape pretty well,“ added Goodfellow.
