Gerlach buys all terrain

08 March 2019

German crane rental firm and heavy load service provider Krandienst Gerlach has expanded its fleet with the purchase of an ATF 70G-4 all terrain crane from crane manufacturer Tadano Faun.

The ATF 70G-4 was collected in person by Gerlach’s managing director, Ingolf Gerlach, and his son, Christian.

“A total weight of 40 tonnes and meeting the 10 tonne maximum limits for the axle reduces our costs significantly,” said Christian Gerlach. “For the ATF 70G-4, we are able to obtain a permanent driving permit across all of Germany. This allows us a highly flexible deployment with our new all terrain. We will use it, among other things, for the assembly of concrete parts, unloading machines, or in steel construction.”

The ATF 70G-4 has a 52.1-metre-long main boom and two engines which Tadano Faun says helps save fuel during crane operation and aids resale values – as having two engines extends the life of each one.
