JLG shows new products at Bauma

JLG’s R-Series.

JLG showed a number of new products at Bauma including its new HC3 high-capacity booms. “The main benefit of a high capacity boom lift lies in its improved flexibility”, said Jan-Willem van Wier, Sr. Product Marketing Manager EMEAIR for JLG. “Getting the most out of a lift cycle; bringing all people, materials and tools up where they need to be in one go, significantly reduces time and helps improve efficiency on site.”

All JLG’s diesel powered booms (some exceptions) that are equipped with this feature will be able to carry three people and tools up to 454kg (1000lbs) in a restricted work envelope. Reducing the platform load to three people and tools up to 340kg (750lbs) extends the work envelope. The full and unrestricted envelope can be operated when the load remains below 300kg (3 people and tools).

JLG’s high capacity booms will be introduced at the end of 2019, commencing with the midsize 460SJ, following a phased introduction in the months afterwards of the rest of the boom portfolio.

The company also rounded out its R-Series of scissor lifts with the new 2632R/3246R on display. The 2632R features a platform capacity of 230 kg, and a working height of 9.8m, while the 3246R features a platform capacity of 320 kg, and a working height of 11.75m. Following the advantages of the R-series scissor aerial work platform family, both platforms are made entirely of all steel components while a swing-out tray for battery and hydraulic system adding to greater serviceability.

The company also showed its RS Series of telehandlers which are available in two models; a 3614RS - 3.6t 14 meter and a 4017RS - 4.0t 17 meter. The external telescopic cylinder being located on the outside, rather than inside the boom, it provides quicker and easier access for service technicians. The JLG 3614RS and 4017RS telehandlers feature Dana axles and transmissions paired with Deutz engines, all components that have been proven over time and add to reliability in the field. As of May 2019, all CE marked RS Series telehandlers will be delivered to the EU region with the new Stage V engine installed.
