Designed for vehicles operating in adverse conditions, the new wet brakes have a sealed design and range in diameter from 228 mm to 460 mm.

In addition to the wet brakes, Meritor has also introduced a 500 mm drum brake for off-highway trucks with large wheel and tyre combinations. The company said the drum brake has improved lining materials for high performance.

Rounding off the manufacturer’s new solutions is a high capacity hydraulic disc brake. Capable of being used in either single or double caliper configurations, Meritor says the hydraulic disc brake offers ample torque and has multiple machine capacities and applications.

Joe Muscedere, Meritor off-highway vice president, specialty and defense, said, “These new brakes, when combined with our global carriers and wheel-ends, will help us quickly meet customer requirements around the world.”
