UK-based rental company 1st Call Plant Hire has added 150 new Komatsu machines to its fleet as it looks to expand its operations.

The company started in London before entering the Bristol and Swindon markets, and it is now looking to extend further into the South West and the Midlands.

1st Call Plant Hire’s order for 150 Komatsu machines includes the PC55MR-5, PC138US-11 and PC228USLC-11 excavator models

Prior to its latest purchase, 1st Call had 800 pieces of equipment in its fleet, including forklifts, dumpers and excavators up to 20 tonnes in weight, as well as a range of attachments.

The order for Komatsu equipment was placed with Komatsu’s UK dealer Marubeni-Komatsu and it includes the PC55MR-5 mini excavator and the PC138US-11 and PC228USLC-11 short tail swing excavators, all of which are designed for work in tight spaces.

These are the first Komatsu machines to join 1st Call’s fleet. The decision to choose Komatsu equipment was said to be helped by the service offered by Marubeni-Komatsu, since its field service engineers are strategically located around the country to provide a quick response.

In addition, the machines weighing 13 tonnes and above come with Komatsu CARE, a complimentary programme that covers a factory scheduled maintenance for each machine for the first three years or 2,000 hours – whichever comes first.
