Norheims move at American Crane & Equipment

American Crane & Equipment Corporation has named Karen Norheim president and chief operating officer and Oddvar Norheim has been named chairman and chief executive officer.

In her 17 years at the company Karen has been vice president and executive vice president. Oddvar was previously president and CEO.

Karen has a Masters degree in Information Science, is a Master of Business Administration, a Bachelor of Science in Marketing & International Business and a Bachelor of Science in International Studies. She chairs the national board of Women In Manufacturing and is in the leadership group of the Crane Manufacturers of America Association crane industry trade group.

Karen developed and implemented the company’s new cultural movement “GRIT Matters.” It defines mission, vision and values under the statement: “Perseverance, Heart, and InteGRITy in everything we do.”

Commenting on Karen’s new role Oddvar Norheim said, “Based on her years of experience across our company, this is a natural next step in our efforts to maintain a strong leadership team, and providing continuity for our customers, talented workforce, and external stakeholders.”

Oddvar continued, “Karen’s heart is in the company, and she will only enhance our commitment to our vision; to be the overhead lifting company most respected for its people and products.”
