A Ritchie Bros auction to be held in the Netherlands this week is being described by the company as one of the biggest of recent times.

It said the highlight of the sale, to be held at Moerdijk on May 17 and 18, would be “the unusually high proportion of young, heavy Caterpillar equipment available”. There will be more than 180 of these units.

In all, the auction inventory contains an extensive range of equipment and has already hit a total of over 2,800 items.

Ritchie Bros onsite auctions are strictly unreserved, meaning there are no minimum bids or reserve prices on the items offered. It said that every single item would sell on the auction day, regardless of price, ensuring a transparent process. Ritchie said that anyone who could not make it in person would be able to bid live online and by proxy.
