French contractor Vinci and construction company Ares have teamed up to create the company Liva, specialising in worksite logistics.

The joint venture enterprise was developed at the Fondation Vinci pour la Cité initiative, with Ares having a 51% share in the company and Vinci a 49% share.

Under the executive management of Ares, the company will operate throughout France and for a number of customers, starting with worksites in the greater Paris region.

Liva’s overall aim is to meet the social integration requirements that are included in a large proportion of contracts, as well as contribute to innovation in worksite logistics. Through Liva, the two companies involved will work to increase employment through three key goals.

The first is to boost the social integration of people in difficulty by offering stable jobs with personalised socio-professional support; the second is to build bridges towards employment within the Vinci group by proposing that some of its employees change career path and go into one of the group’s activities that are seeking to increase their workforce; and the third is to professionalise worksite logistics by creating a comprehensive logistics solution based on digital technology and remote logistics management.

Located in Vinci Construction France’s Nanterre premises, Liva plans to take on its first integration programme employee in July 2018. The company has a target to hire 20 integration programme employees by the end of 2018, and about 50 more by the end of 2019.
