UK retail regeneration plans

Plans from UK property group Intu have been put forward for a £150 million (€206 million) redevelopment of Broadmarsh shopping centre, Nottingham.

The scheme, which will focus on the southern gateway area of the city, includes new retail, restaurant and leisure facilities. There will also be a new multi-screen cinema.

Benoy, which designed St David’s shopping centre in Cardiff, Wales, has been confirmed as the project architect.

A planning application has been put to Nottingham City Council, which owns the Broadmarsh site.

If approved, construction is projected to begin in the first half of 2016. The scheme is forecast to take around two years to complete.
