SDMO launches new lighting towers
The smallest of three new lighting towers from SDMO in France is the 840 kg RL6. It generates 100000 lumens from four 1000 W halogen bulbs, and its 7 m high column rotates through 350º. A Mitsubishi L3E SD engine powers the model, and noise level has been held to 86 LwA.
Kaplan says learn from US rental slowdown
European rental companies should learn from the current slowdown in the US rental market and prepare by diversifying their fleets and customer base, said US rental consultant Dan Kaplan at the ERA’s annual convention.

Stanley breaker offers top power-to-weight ratio
The Cyclone drop hammers, says Stanley Hydraulic Tools in the US, offer up to five times better power-to-weight ratios and lower purchase and operating costs than other hydraulic hammers. The three-model product line, recently acquired from another company and under expansion by Stanley, fits skid steer loaders, excavators and backhoes.
Workx adds two more
Dutch rental company Workx acquired in May the companies Van der Linden Rentall and Dekker Rent, which operate four depots in the provinces of Brabant and Gelderland in The Netherlands. The acquisitions raise the number of Workx's depots to 55 and advance its expansion in the rental of building materials and wharf construction.
Constellation buys Solutions by Computer
Canadian company Constellation Software Inc. has acquired rental software specialist Solutions by Computer Inc in Springfield, Massachusetts. Constellation, which is based in Toronto, Ontario, made the purchase through its subsidiary, Trapeze Software Inc., but other terms of the deal were not disclosed.
IRE show attracts quality visitors
The first ever International Rental Exhibition (IRE), held in Amsterdam between June 3 and 5, was a great success according to many exhibitors with around 1500 "high quality" visitors attending the first show.

Riwal has further expanded its growing European footprint by acquiring a 70% share of Estonian access rental company 123lift. The company has also expanded its management team with the appointment of finance specialist Jeff Eisenberg.

Height for Hire in Ireland has acquired a majority shareholding in Slovakian access rental company Strojné Centrum Slovakia (SCS), which has a fleet of around 100 machines.

Riwal has acquired a 70% stake in Grupo Clem, a major Spanish aerial platform and forklift truck rental company with annual rental revenues of €25 million. The price was not disclosed.
