JLG BIM expansion

JLG has expanded its BIM (building information modelling) library, which now includes the company’s compact crawler booms, making the full JLG product line available for download. 

BIM is an intelligent 3d model-based process that gives architecture and construction professionals the insight and tools to more efficiently plan, design, construct and manage buildings and infrastructure projects.

According to Neil Doherty, JLG chief engineer and project lead for BIM, “BIMobject is an ideal partner for JLG because both companies continue to be at the forefront of innovation for this technology.

“The company offers a steady flow of visitors to their site and a high penetration of registered users who actively view and download BIM models.”

Unlike many equipment manufacturers, JLG’s BIM models are created internally instead of through a third party. Creating its own models ensures that users have the benefit of specifications that look and act as the real equipment would on the job, in addition to allowing JLG to be in direct control of equipment revisions so that models are always up to date.
