Following the departure of Wayne Smith earlier this year, it has been announced Colin Hotchkiss will be the new managing director of Nationwide Platforms, the UK arm of Loxam’s powered access division.

Hotchkiss, who will join Nationwide later this year, is currently managing director of Garic, a Bibby Group Company and leading UK supplier in the rental and sales of innovative welfare and accommodation products and services. He was previously general manager at Finning.

Don Kenny, CEO of Loxam Powered Access Division, commented, “The journey for Nationwide Platforms has been an interesting one over the last two years following the acquisition by Loxam and the future is equally exciting given the recent announcement regarding the acquisition of UK Platforms. Selecting the right candidate to take the organisation forward was a key appointment and I am delighted that Colin has agreed to join us. I believe he possesses the right commercial, operational and business skills to lead Nationwide Platforms.”

Hotchkiss added, “To succeed in the UK rental market suppliers must provide amazing levels of customer service, the highest quality products, and innovative solutions to support the Infrastructure and Construction industries and must do so while operating to the highest possible safety standards. Following a terrific few years helping Garic achieve exactly that, it is a natural next step for me to join the Loxam Group and blend my experience with that of my new colleagues to deliver the best possible customer experience and execute our growth strategy.”

It is anticipated Hotchkiss will join Nationwide Platforms towards the end of the year. Phil Wainwright, current Interim managing director of Nationwide Platforms, will remain with the group, moving to an executive role in the larger Powered Access Division.
