The US National Demolition Association (NDA) has renewed its communications campaign with the White House with a letter detailing the industry’s priorities for a “Phase 4” Covid-19 relief bill.

The letter, addressed to President Trump, invites the federal government to consider specific short- and long-term solutions to help demolition contractors and their business partners.

Key recommendations include:

  • Increased small business relief funding, including PPP (Paycheck Protection Programme) loans
  • Payroll tax cut for the remainder of 2020
  • Comprehensive infrastructure funding
  • Increased access to PPE (personal protective equipment).

The NDA has been in touch with the government since March to secure essential status and maximise financial support for the demolition industry.

The association has also set up a grassroots campaign for its membership of almost 500 companies to contact their elected government officials directly.
