Vinci Concessions has signed an agreement with Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC) for the development of concession schemes for road infrastructures in Vietnam.

The agreement also focuses on construction, financing and operation of new greenfield motorway projects by VEC – the Vietnamese Highways Agency – and Vinci Concessions.

As part of the strategic partnership, Vinci Concessions, via its subsidiary Vinci Highways, will take part in Vietnam's infrastructure development programme.

The country plans to build a national expressway network, including the 1,800km north-south expressway.

Vinci said the agreement was a demonstration of its expansion in high-growth countries.

It added that the company was already present in Asia via its subsidiary Vinci Airports, which operated the airports in Cambodia and Japan.

Vinci said the agreement further expressed its interest to expand outside of Europe.
