Spider hoists work on San Diego project

Two SC1000 hoists from Spider recently worked on the Pinnacle Museum Tower Condominium in San Diego, CA. Located 400 feet above ground on a balcony, Spider mounted two of its hoists on I-beams supported by 9-foot tall OBS frames to lift the owner's large mirrors and glass panels to the penthouse on the 35th floor.
The new material hoist kit was operated by workers on the ground who managed tether lines to control panels measuring 142 inches by 66 inches and weighing up to 350 pounds, the company said. Over the course of a little over two days, 26 panels were lifted and delivered between the OBS frame towers.
The kit is completely ANSI A10.5 certified when using a rated hoist without modifications in material lifting applications. It features an additional limit switch, power loss reset and emergency stop features. It can lift up to 2,000 pounds, the company said.
