Brad Boehler to lead US-based Morbark

Boehler will succeed Dave Herr, current vice president of Alamo Group’s Forestry and Tree Care Business Unit and president of Morbark Holdings, effective 24 August.

Prior to this move, Boehler was president of the Skyjack Group, a major manufacturer of aerial lift equipment including scissor lifts, boom lifts and telehandlers. Skyjack is a division of auto parts maker Linamar, based in Ontario, Canada.

During his 16 years at Skyjack, Boehler led the company through a period of growth and performance improvement, making safety and training a top priority.

Located in Winn, Michigan, US, Morbark is a leading manufacturer of equipment used in forestry, recycling, tree care, landscaping, sawmill, and biomass markets. Boehler has experience in these areas, having previously worked for seven years in engineering and technical positions at Tigercat International, a privately owned Canadian manufacturer of forestry equipment and specialised off-road industrial machinery.

A veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces, having served as an engineering officer in the construction engineering section, Boehler holds a bachelor’s of engineering science in civil engineering degree from the University of Western Ontario, and has completed the executive development program at Ivey Business School.

Herr joined Morbark in October 2016 initially as a board director and then as its CEO. He led the company through a period of growth, operational improvement, acquisition, and integration with complementary businesses, including Rayco Manufacturing, LLC, and Denis Cimaf, and finally, the transfer of ownership to Alamo Group in 2019.

“It has been an honor and privilege to lead Morbark and I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished during this time,” Herr was quoted. “Brad is an exceptional and proven leader, and I look forward to working with him to ensure a smooth transition and the Business Unit’s continued success under his guidance.”

Boehler, originally from the province of Alberta, Canada, will be relocating to Central Michigan with his wife Melinda in the coming months.
