UK crane hire, fuel distribution and plumbing and heating services company Hall Bros. has taken delivery of a new Liebherr LTM 1040-2.1 mobile crane.

The 40-tonne capacity, two-axle crane has a 35-metre-long, continuously variable, four-section telescopic boom that Liebherr said uses a hydro-mechanical telescoping system to extend to the required length quickly. The telescoping operation can also be performed under load. Both axles are driven and the crane has Liebherr’s VarioBase system, which enhances the crane’s effectiveness for lifting operations in locations where space is restricted.

Company director Howard Hall said, “Aside from the quality of the Liebherr products that we have become accustomed to over a number of years now, we were keen to have another machine with VarioBase. We first experienced this system on a new LTM 1060-3.1 a couple of years ago and the benefits it brings to an already great machine are outstanding.”
