The Australian sales and service division of the Liebherr Group, Liebherr-Australia, has announced it will take over the business activities, including all employees and locations, of tower crane sales and rental operation Morrow Equipment Company in Sydney and Brisbane, Australia, and Wellington, New Zealand from 1 January 2019.

Christian Chalupny, president of Morrow, was keen to point out that all Morrow employees can become part of the Liebherr team and that Liebherr will continue to support all Morrow’s existing contracts and customer relations.

Marco Guariglia, managing director of Liebherr’s Tower Cranes division, commented, “We are convinced that we will successfully shape the future with the entire staff at all locations, and in the interest of our customers.”

Thomas Schröder and Craig Jones, Morrow Equipment general manager, will manage the expanded tower cranes division at Liebherr-Australia.

According to Liebherr, it is looking forward to consolidating and further expanding on what Morrow has already achieved.

This latest move follows Liebherr Maritime announcing its intention to strengthen its presence in Australia, New Zealand and Oceania back in August 2017. Until then, for the last 27 years, Liebherr’s mobile harbour cranes business had been represented by Morrow Equipment Australia. However, at the time, Liebherr Maritime said it intended to “establish full service, spares and sales activities in Australia, New Zealand and the Oceania region”.
