Manitowoc launches GMK6300L-1 as successor to the Grove GMK6300L

USA-headquartered crane manufacturer Manitowoc is to launch the GMK6300L-1 – a follow-up to its Grove GMK6300L all terrain crane.

Manitowoc said it has increased the load chart on the new version by an average of over seven percent compared to the GMK6300L.

The improvements are even greater at height, the company stated, with advantages of over 16 percent in the 70 – 80 metre (226 ft – 263 ft) boom length range.

The new version also offers improved fuel economy over the GMK6300L, said Manitowoc, thanks to a 430 kW (580 hp) Mercedes Benz (Euromot 4/EPA Tier 4 final) engine in the carrier. This is paired with an Allison torque converter transmission. A 210 kW (280 HP) Mercedes Benz (Euromot 4/EPA Tier 4 final) engine powers the superstructure.

Manitowoc’s global product director for all terrain cranes Andreas Cremer commented, “More than 400 GMK6300Ls have been delivered [since its launch in 2010]. With its significantly improved load charts and specifications we expect the GMK6300L-1 to prove just as popular.”
