Positive user feedback for Link-Belt 75RT

US crane rental agency NessCampbell Crane + Rigging (NessCampbell) has been using a new Link-Belt 70 tonne capacity 75RT rough terrain crane, which it purchased at ConExpo 2017, on a range of jobs in 2017. The company reports positively regarding the crane’s performance.

It was first used for steel erection for a few months at an aerospace manufacturer in Everett, Washington, USA; it then placed multiple stories of glass panels for a high-rise project in downtown Portland, Oregon, USA; most recently it installed 1,524 metres of sound barrier walls alongside Interstate 5 near Salem, Oregon, USA. This involved placing 270 piers and approximately 135 panels with over 21.3 metres of elevation change.

On this latest job, the 75RT’s variable outrigger configuration (V-CALC) proved necessary as, at points, space was very limited. “If we would have had to keep our outriggers in the mid position on the right side of the crane I don’t think we could have made some of these lifts,” explained experienced NessCampbell crane operator Joe Taber. “Since we could bring them in on that side and keep outriggers in the mid position on the left, we still had enough chart to lift the 4,535 kg panels.” Taber also reported positively on the precision of the 75RT. ““I really like the winches, and smoothness of the functions on this crane,” he said. “I can really dial it in with the fine metering. We set glass panels in Portland using the full jib and boom and it was really smooth.”
