ERA creates cybersecurity working group

The European Rental Association (ERA) has created a new working group on cybersecurity.

ERA said the acceleration of digital processes through the pandemic had made cybersecurity more of an issue for rental businesses; ”With the process of digitalisation, online threats are bringing new challenges.

”The most common cyber threats that the rental industry may face are similar to the ones faced in other businesses, coming either from external attacks or insider threats.

”However, due to the characteristics of the rental business, some vulnerabilities specific to rental companies can be identified.”

The first step has been to establish a working group of IT specialists from rental companies to collect best practices in dealing with cybersecurity. A kick-off meeting is scheduled for early December and will focus on defining the topic, the scope of activity for the group, and a timeline.
