IRC conference: will earthmoving rentals take off in China?

18 September 2019

The managing director of Hitachi’s Chinese subsidiary will use his speech at the International Rental Conference (IRC) to discuss trends in the rental of earthmoving equipment in China.

Tei Gyomei, who previously ran Caterpillar’s rental business in Japan, will describe Hitachi’s multi-channel rental strategy, which includes investment in its own wholesale rental fleet as well as direct sales to rental partners.

The conference is on 22 October in Shanghai, the day before the APEX Asia aerial platform exhibition. (For details visit www.khl-irc.com and www.apexasiashow.com.)

Tei believes that rental of earthmoving equipment will take off in China, but probably in larger machines and with the nation’s large, state-owned contractors taking the lead.

Other speeches in Shanghai will cover digital technologies for rental companies, new research into the aerial platform rental sector in China, and the potential for the rental of telehandlers in China.
