Join the DigiPLACE Community of Stakeholders

The ERA is encouraging its members to join DigiPLACE Community of Stakeholders and actively contribute to the building of the European Digital Platform for the construction ecosystem.

The European initiative Digitising European Industry (DEI), and the new EC initiative Digital Europe, considers it a top priority to create a European industrial data, IoT (Internet of Things) and AI (Artificial Intelligence) ecosystem that, with other actions, will support the development of strong European digital industrial platforms to strengthen the competitiveness of European industry and SMEs in Europe and globally.

€300 million of the H2020 budget is being invested to finance an initial wave of pilot initiatives of European industrial digital platforms for the industrial, agricultural, health and energy sectors, to which the construction industry has been added.

DigiPLACE is the European H2020 project that is responsible for designing the reference architecture of the European digital platform for construction. This project will support the digital transformation of the construction sector to make it more productive, sustainable and people-centric, and better able to respond to the growing demand for new services, technologies and business models necessary for the sector to grow and fulfil the 2030 and 2050 climate and energy goals.

The DigiPLACE project consortium, coordinated by Politecnico di Milano, has a partnership composed of the main European industry federations of the construction chain, top European universities and research centres, top ICT companies and associations, and ministries of transport and infrastructure. Such a strategic endeavour cannot be reached without an open and inclusive approach that assures an active and wide involvement of all interested parties in the project activities. In order for the future European Digital Platform for Construction to be successful, it needs to respond to the needs of all users.

That is why DigiPLACE has started to create an open and inclusive Community of Stakeholders (CoS), that will be composed of at least 1,000 members from all over Europe. They will accompany the project throughout its 18-month duration and will continue to exist after the project’s completion in March 2021. The intention is for the DigiPLACE CoS to be the place where all parties that are interested in the competitiveness and digital upkeep of the European construction chain will meet and contribute to the project via different means and actions.
