The deal was concluded on 14 February and the purchase price was not disclosed. The family-owned business was founded in 1998 by Tom Nickell and operates from branches at Newnan, Griffin, Hiram and a fourth location opened last year at LaGrange.

The deal is part of Sunbelt’s growth strategy, which comprises both greenfield and acquisitions. In the 12 months to the end of October last year Sunbelt acquired 11 companies in the USA and Canada, adding 67 stores to its North American network.

Sunbelt is owned by UK-based Ashtead Group, which also owns UK rental company A-Plant.
