Who were the risers and fallers in Construction Europe's 2009 ranking of the region's 100 largest construction contractors?

As was the case last in 2008, the most striking thing about this year's league table was the continued rise of Spain's construction companies. There were a total of 11 Spanish contractors listed in the CE-100, with four inside the top ten.

But if companies move up the table, it follows that others must fall. This year was the UK house builders and some of the country's medium sized contractors that suffered the most. A total of 28 companies lost places in the CE-100 rankings this year, and almost half of them were UK-based.

Regular readers of construction Europe will see the full CE-100 ranking in the July-August edition of the magazine that is out now. If you would like to subscribe to the magazine, please visit the Construction Europe section of our website.

Alternatively, the CE-100 is available as a stand-alone report. This can be purchased via the website at khl's information store.
