A-Plant and Amey's health and safety event promoted safe work practices.

More than 400 people attended a plant safety awareness day hosted by Amey and A-Plant, aimed at tackling occupational illness and maximising efficiencies.

Amey and its single service provider A-Plant invited their supply chains and key customers to an event at Amey's Stafford Park depot in Telford, UK, aimed at demonstrating the latest equipment, including a focus equipment designed to reduce or eliminate Hand-Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS).

Guests included personnel from the Highways Agency, Transport for London (TfL) and Sheffield City Council.

More than 25 of A-Plant's preferred suppliers participated in the event, including Hilti, JCB, Zarges, Multihog, TH White, Dantex and Reactec.

Keith Sexton, group HSEA director for Amey, said: "This event supports Amey's health and safety campaign of Target Zero accidents every day; it's inclusive, promotes collaboration with our supply chain and drives innovation.

"Often, the people with first-hand experience of using equipment are best placed to suggest health and safety innovations - and this event encourages them to do just that."

Equipment on display included the Hilti TE 3000-AVR breaker, Multihog's MH90 Multi-Purpose Utility Vehicle; Towerlight's ‘Green' VB-9 lighting tower; and the Irus Quatrak Remote Controlled Mulcher from IPU.
