Nationwide Platforms are working closely with contractor Lend Lease to assist with the construction of the £125 million Hydro arena in Scotland.

The access equipment provider currently has 50 units on site, ranging from 3.6m low level access units up to 72 m truck-mounted platforms.

All boom lifts on the site are fitted with either Nationwide Platforms' SkySiren anti-entrapment solution, or with manufacturer NiftyLift's own safeguard, the Sustained Involuntary Operation Prevention System (SiOPS).

The 12,000-seat Hydro will become Scotland's new national home for major entertainment events when it opens in 2013. The venue will also be used for the netball and gymnastics events during the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Nationwide Platforms are also lending their assistance to other landmark projects in the UK, including the Heathrow T2B and Crossrail builds.
