APEX and IRE shows still on for June

APEX and the International Rental Exhibition (IRE) remain scheduled for 15-17 June this year, although the organisers continue to closely monitor the impact of the pandemic.

Organiser BV Industrial Promotions International (IPI) told exhibitors of both shows that its current position was based on consultations with the venue - the Maastricht Exhibition & Congress Centre (MECC) - as well as national and local government in the Netherlands, and its partner KHL Group.

IPI said the vaccine brought the promise of a return to more-normal business practices and that it was “cautiously optimistic that the access and rental industry will once again be able to meet up on June 15-17.”

If the shows cannot take place, IPI said an decision would be made at least two months in advance, giving exhibitors and visitors time to change travel and shipping arrangements.

“We want to provide exhibitors and visitors with as much information as possible to reassure them and help their business planning”, said Tony Kenter, President of IPI.

“Listening closely to our exhibitors and the market in general, we feel that – at this time – the shows can proceed in accordance with official government and local authority guidance, as well as additional venue safety regulations.

“We will of course adapt to any changing circumstances to safeguard the health and well-being of everyone involved.”

APEX is the showcase for the aerial platform industry and is supported by the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF).

The rental show IRE has the support of the European Rental Association (ERA), which will hold its two-day annual conference at the MECC venue during the show. The European Rental Awards dinner is also scheduled for the evening of 16 June.
