Atlas Copco has announced that it has acquired the outstanding majority shareholding (75%) of its Chinese breaker component manufacturing joint venture Shenyang Ruifeng Machinery Limited. Atlas Copco initially acquired a 25% holding in the joint venture in 2003.

Based in Shenyang City in Liao Ning Province, Shenyang supplies internal components for Atlas Copco's pneumatic and hydraulic breaker lines and has an annual turnover in the order of SEK100 million (US$15.5 million).

In a statement, Bjorn Rosengren, who is business area president – Atlas Copco Construction and Mining Technique, said: “This will allow us to further develop the facility and introduce new products from the Construction Tools division for the fast growing Asian market. It supports the establishment of a local competence centre for design, development and manufacturing.”
