Atlas deal adds compactors for Hyundai

Hyundai Heavy Industries and Atlas Weyhausen have signed an OEM supply agreement that will see the Korean manufacturer add compaction equipment to its range.

Under the terms of the agreement, Atlas Weyhausen will supply four models of single drum rollers, from 7 to 14 tonnes, and 2.3 tone and 3 tonne tandem rollers for sale under the Hyundai brand in developing markets. Hyundai highlighted the Middle East, Turkey and Russia as three potential markets.

“The partnership enables Hyundai Heavy to expand its construction equipment line, and Atlas Weyhausen to boost its sales via Hyundai Heavy’s 500-plus dealer network in 150 countries worldwide,” said Hyundai in a statement.

Helmet Lorch, managing director of Atlas Weyhausen said, “For Atlas Weyhausen, this long term strategic partnership is a milestone in the worldwide distribution of its proven compaction equipment line, and will enable us to further accelerate our developing efforts in this line of business.”
