Equipment manufacturer Caterpillar showcased examples from its new D Series of compact tracked loaders and skid steers at the World of Concrete show in Las Vegas, US, together with a prototype tilting coupler.

The 259D compact tracked loader and 262D skid steer were on show - models with a range of updated features, including new cameras at the rear for extra visibility.

Caterpillar also unveiled its first hydraulic tilting coupler at the exhibition. As yet unnamed, the coupler was developed in partnership with Helac, which produced the tilt rotator.

Caterpillar building construction products market development engineer Greg Worley said, "We are testing this prototype tilting hydraulic coupler at the moment with a view to bringing it to market. The advantages are that operators can change buckets fully automatically from within the cab, and the coupler increases the versatility of the excavator."
