Hiab to deliver 95 cranes to Iraq

Loader crane manufacturer Hiab has an order for 95 loader cranes from the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity.
The Euro 16 million order is for XS 244 loader cranes mounted on cargo bodies assembled on Iveco trucks. Most are scheduled for 2009 delivery.
Tasks will include handling and carrying electrical wire, generators and transformers to build electricity infrastructure in Iraq. The Ministry of Electricity, established in 2003, is responsible for generating, transmitting and distributing electricity in Iraq. It estimated the country's total demand for electricity at about 11 thousand megawatts but production volume at the time of writing in late November was about 5 thousand megawatts.
Hiab dealer for Iraq, Wadi Al-Ghary for General Trading & Trading Agencies Co., Ltd., will handle service and repair backup.
