Crane manufacturer Manitowoc signed two new tower crane dealership agreements at bC India and has more potential deals on the cards.

Marketing communications manager Punitha Govindasamy told iC that dealership agreements had been signed with Sri Lankan company Diesel & Motor Engineering, together with Bhutan-based DZ Trading Enterprise, while further arrangements in Asia are expected to be finalised in the coming days.

And the company has also had a positive response to its new MC 125 tower crane which replaces the MC 115 B. Manitowoc is showcasing the machine at the event and has received at least one firm order for a new model, according to Ms Govindasamy.

She added that the company was optimistic about demand in the Indian market.

"There is a lot of potential in the Indian and Asian market, and the show in Mumbai has been especially good. We have seen lots of interest from local contacts and have the advantage of being an established brand in the country, offering good pre- and post-sale service," Ms Govindasamy said.

The MC 125 is manufactured in Manitowoc's Indian factory in Pune, as well as its facility in Zhangijagan in China, and features a 60 m maximum jib length, 5 m more than the MC 115 B.
