Zeppelin added electrical site equipment to its service portfolio in 2014, with the acquisition of the project service division of German construction company Streif Baulogistik, a subsidiary of contractor Hochtief.

Timo Heitkamp, head of the electrical and energy division in Essen. said that since then, the business has grown steadily with new technology and personnel added.

“In electrical site equipment, our technology - starting with site power distribution boards, cables and lines, as well as extensions, transformer stations or energy transmitters - is only the basis. Our employees make the difference,” he said.

Zeppelin Rental’s services include planning and project management as well as installation, maintenance and service of electrical construction site equipment.

“A planned, customer-tailored and professionally installed electrical construction site installation is enormously important for efficient construction operations,” said Heitkamp. “It avoids unnecessary delays in the construction process and additional costs.”

Zeppelin said it had developed processes to determine the correct configuration of construction site power infrastructure, by gauging the power consumption of consumers over the individual construction phases in advance.

“Lines, cable routing and distribution locations are configured to ensure safe and obstacle-free routes through the site, with electricians overseeing installation and maintenance as well as adapting the construction power infrastructure to the construction progress.”
