This is said to be the first Genie branded distribution centre in the Middle East

Supporting the needs of customers in the Middle East, Terex AWP (aerial work platform) has opened its first distribution centre in the region dedicated to its Genie branded aerial access equipment.

Located in the Jebel Ali Free Zone in Dubai, UAE, on the premises of third-party logistics providers Wallenius Wilhelmsen Solutions (WWS), the new distribution facility will hold a broad selection of Genie boom lifts and scissor lifts to be able to provide quick response to customers’ critical business requirements.

Sharbel Kordahi, managing director, Terex Equipment Middle East (TEME), and Genie sales director for Middle East, South Africa, Russia and CIS, Terex AWP, said, “The market is evolving, and our customers have been finding that they are increasingly challenged by orders for projects that demand delivery at short notice.

“Addressing the need to ensure fast deliveries to better support our customers’ urgent requests, this new facility will help respond more quickly, getting them the equipment they need, when they need it.”

The new centre will speed up delivery times for the Middle East region

Like any other Terex AWP facility around the world, this new Genie distribution centre will also handle pre-delivery inspections and the fitting of certain options.

“This distribution centre is geared to the specific needs of customers in the Middle East, and as such, the main focus will be on considerably speeding up the delivery of critical and one-shot orders. At the same time, our distributors will continue to maintain their own stocks of Genie equipment on their own premises to ensure the best response possible to all customers throughout the region,” added Kordahi.
