New models from Hiab

Hiab, part of Cargotec, has launched three new models of high capacity cranes at the BedrijfsautoRAI 2015 exhibition in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

The new models are the Hiab X-HiPro 548, the Hiab X-HiPro 638, and the Hiab X-HiPro 658. They are designed to lift heavy and bulky materials, with high speed and precision. Features include chain-driven stabiliser span, hydraulically tilting stabiliser legs, a quick to install jib and an easy-folding jib and hoist system. In addition, the models are fitted with auxiliary legs, Variable Stability Limit+, which automatically regulates lift capacity in relation to stability, and the Load Stability System, which dampens uneven lifting movement.

The new hydraulic and electronic systems make control of the cranes smoother, more accurate, and faster than ever before, and the new damping system creates a very stable, gentle performance when lifting. Our new control valve delivers much higher oil flows, which gives significant improvements in speed, and the new base design halves the time it takes to set the crane up for a lift.”

Sergio Peiró, Hiab product manager, heavy range cranes, said, “The 548 and 638 are excellent working at long range, both vertically and horizontally, thanks to the long boom system with optional jib for additional reach. The 658 is a short boom version with an optimised capacity to weight ratio. It is particularly well suited for heavy lifting close to the truck bed, and allows a heavier payload due to its relatively low weight and compact design.”
