Harsco Corporation has received a three-year contract to supply scaffolding, access towers, and other construction equipment to support the Barwa Commercial Avenue construction project in Qatar. The award also includes provision of rental materials and the potential for scope increases, said the US-based company.

German contractor Hochtief leads the €2.4 billion development project, which will build 150000 m2 of office space, 600 retail outlets and 800 residential units. The Barwa Commercial Avenue, located to the north of the city of Doha, will be almost 8 km in length upon completion in 2011.
