What is reported to be the largest single-batch export order in the Chinese construction machinery industry over the past five years has occurred, with XCMG excavators, wheeled loaders and graders setting sail from Lianyungang Port, China, to South America.

According to official data, in the first half of this year Chinese foreign trade import and export reached RMB 18.07 trillion (US$2.8 trillion), a year-on-year increase of 27.1%. Monthly import and exports have risen for 13 consecutive months, of which the export volume of construction machinery products registered a year-on-year growth of 67%.

“In the first half year, XCMG export soared by 70%+ over the same period of last year,” said Lu Chuan, President, XCMG Machinery.

“However, global market expansion depends on in-depth integration of supply chain, industrial chain and value chain, rather than fight alone,” he added.

According to XCMG, the company’s products are in 187 countries and regions around the world, covering 97% of countries along China’s ‘Belt and Road’ initiative. The company says that it has the number one export share in 30 of these countries.

In the most recent Yellow Table, International Construction’s ranking of the world’s 50 biggest OEMs, XCMG rose to third place.
