TÜV SÜD offers training for AI systems

Engineering services company TÜV SÜD has begun offering management training for AI (artificial intellegince) applications.

The German company, which recently partnered with UK construction analytics firm Contilio on an automated quality control system based on artificial intelligence, said that while AI applications are becoming more and more common, “regulation is lagging behind technical development”.

TÜV SÜD’s training programmes cater to those needing background on existing AI technologies and their related regulations. Topics covered include data management, lifecycle, safety & security, common errors, quality assurance, control & testing, best practice and “AI robustness”.

Dr Martin Saerbeck, CTO Digital Service at TÜV SÜD in Singapore, said, “It targets companies, organisations and startups seeking to develop marketable AI applications”.

“We observe that many established companies are developing and using AI products but are not AI experts and run into dependability difficulties when it comes to implementation.”

“On the other side of the spectrum there are companies specialising in AI with highly creative ideas, but are unaware of either legal or normative requirements or how to assure the quality of their AI-based development process. Our training helps both groups to develop and use AI applications in a quality- and market-focused manner.”
