Platform Basket showed its new spider at SAIE for the first time: the new model comes in two versions Spider 13.65 and Spider 13.80.

The machines have in common a working height of 13.4 m, a low weight so they can be transported on 3.5 t trucks or a trailer and the capacity to be set up within a 3 m2 envelope for use in confined space.

The Spider 13.65 weighs 1380 kg with a maximum outreach of 6.5 m; the Spider 13.80 weighs 1500 kg with an 8 m outreach. The automatic out-reach control system ensures that users are always safe depending on the load in the basket which can be up to 200 kg.

Managing director Carlo Molesini said that particular attention had been paid by the company's technical staff, to designing a product with telescopic boom and fly jib, which had to be light. The telescopic boom also has a hydraulic device to double the oil flow when the extension booms are operated, which gets the cage to the full working height in less than 40 seconds.

Some other interesting features are the remote control panel to drive the machine from cage or from ground and the double driving speed up to 3.5 km/h, which speeds up the operation of moving the unit from site to site.

Mr Molesini said that the same solution will be used on the electric version (battery type) that the company expects to launch soon.
