Crane repair company Rusch Kraantechniek is the latest to order a weld treatment system designed to extend the working life of steel structures and mechanical components.

The Esonix UIT (ultrasonic impact treatment) System from Applied Ultrasonics Europe, in the Netherlands, has been tested by independent research institutions in North America, Europe and Asia, according to the company. “The technique improves the physical and mechanical properties of various metals.”

Rusch, also based in the Netherlands, will be using the Esonix UIT system on welds made during boom repairs.
