The manufacturer, which began producing the original version of the WL20e in 2015, said the third generation of the model features a new operator cab and a new lithium-ion battery.

“In the future, customers will have the option of choosing between three battery variants so that running and charging times can be optimally tailored to work requirements,” said Wacker Neuson.

It is expected that the updated WL20e will retain the 2.3 t (5,180.9 lb) operating weight, 15 km/h travel speed and the five-hour operating time of its predecessor model.

Alongside the WL20e - which will be displayed on Wacker Neuson’s joint 5,000 sq m stand (53.819 sq ft) with its subsidiary brand Kramer - the manufacturer will also debut its EW100 wheeled excavator, which with a 10 t operating weight is the largest model in its equipment range.

“Thanks to its powerful traction hydraulics and high basic working capacity, the EW100 can also be used to complete tasks that would otherwise require the use of a 14 tn excavator,” said the company.

As well as expanding its zero emission range with new models, additional services such as “special financing” options will also be introduced at the show.

Speaking of the upcoming construction trade fair, Alexander Greschner, chief sales officer at Wacker Neuson Group, said: “The anticipation of Bauma has always been high - after the restrictions imposed by the Corona pandemic over the past two years, this year we can hardly wait to welcome our customers back in person and create a unique brand experience for them.

“At the heart of our trade show presence is the Meet the Future Arena. Here, we not only showcase our demo show, but also present our innovations in the fields of zero emission and digitization.”
