Caterpillar has introduced three new E Series hammers into the global market – the 2,660 kg (5852 lb) H140Es for 24 to 42 tonne carriers, the 3530 kg (7,766 lb) H160Es for 32 to 55 tonne carriers and the 4540 kg (9,988 lb) H180Es for 42 to 76 tonne carriers. These new breakers cover the Cat excavator range from the 324E through to the 374D L and are optimised for these carriers, and are available with mounting brackets that would allow their use with a Cat quick coupler.

According to Cat, they have been designed to provide extended durability and reliability, and feature automatic shut-off, silencing and vibration buffering. The symmetrical housing design is new and allows the housing to be rotated through 180° to compensate for wear to extend housing life. The lower portion incorporates rock edges for added housing protection and to enable quick positioning of boulders. An optional wear package is also available to further enhance durability in arduous applications.
