UK rental firm A-Plant has introduced a new fuel management system to assist clients with generators on hire.

The TransTalk fuel-monitoring device has been first used with a 150kVA generator on long-term hire to Wyse Power. It is based at the former London 2012 Olympic site, now renamed East Village, where the company is managing a number of temporary office blocks.

Using the TransTalk system enables Wyse to access the generator’s tank levels from almost any PC and Smartphone using a web-based user interface. The data can then be exported in PDF, Excel and email formats.

The TransTalk system also sends email alerts when fuel levels are low and tracks fuel usage and ambient temperature when the generator is powering heating systems

Wyse Power project manager Andy Hughes said, “Fitting this device means we are able to monitor levels in the tank off-site and request fuel top-ups only when needed. We can account for all usage and monitor the equipment so it’s not left burning unnecessarily. This is saving us time and manpower which all helps towards reducing carbon footprint and increasing efficiency, as well as our bottom line.”

The TransTalk device was purchased through A-Plant’s supplier Western Global.
