A-Plant opens new Tool Hire Express branch

UK rental company A-Plant has expanded its city and town-centre rental store project with a new Wolverhampton Tool Hire Express branch targeting the do-it-yourself (DIY) market.

A-Plant, which is owned by rental giant Ashtead, said its Tool Hire Express stores aimed to offer contractors and homeowners immediate access to construction and DIY equipment in cities and town centres.

The Tool Hire Express concept was introduced in 2013, with the first pilot store opening in Manchester, followed by branches in Brighton, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Sheffield and several other areas.

A-Plant’s Tool Hire Express stores are located in and around cities and town centres and have been introduced to meet the growing demand for customers working on major construction projects and repair and maintenance contracts, as well as facilities management and DIY work.

The company said the stores were designed to be easily accessible, allowing customers to quickly park up on-site and call in to pick up equipment, or to allow equipment to be delivered direct to site.

Tool Hire Express stores focus on the hire and sale of power tools, alloy towers, painting and decorating equipment, compaction equipment, gardening and landscaping equipment, pressure washers, carpet cleaners, heaters and more.

A-Plant district sales director for West Midlands said Paul Coxon said, “We already have a large customer base in Wolverhampton, so this new location will allow us to provide enhanced support for both existing customers and the DIY market.

“The new Tool Hire Express store is located side by side with our existing PSS Hire location which already offers specialist products and services to the utility, civil engineering and associated sectors, so it means we now offer a complete one-stop shop solution to meet all our utility customers’ equipment needs.

“Our new Tool Hire Express store is conveniently located in the heart of Wolverhampton, so it means we can deliver equipment quickly and efficiently to customers, whilst also making it convenient and economical for our customers to collect from us and be back on-site almost immediately.”
