31 October 2008
UK construction company Skanska has awarded A-Plant a two-year contract for the rental of tools and equipment. A-Plant said the deal could generate £5 million (€6.2 million) worth of business each year.
The new contract follows an eight-year relationship between the two companies and allows for a one-year extension based on performance. A-Plant provides on-site staff and rental facilities at some major Skanska projects.
Sat Dhaiwal, chief executive officer of A-Plant said, "Our ability to support Skanska to the highest levels over the last eight years was key to winning the new plant, tools and equipment hire contract. We have also been a preferred supplier to McNicholas, part of Skanska, for the past 16 years.
"Skanska values the full operational support we provide at A-Plant, including delivery guarantees, health and safety focus and market-leading IT capabilities, complemented by one of the youngest equipment fleets in the UK."
Skanska's annual business is more than £1.3 billion (€1.63 billion) in the UK and it has more than 5000 employees. A-Plant is part of the Ashtead Group plc, which also owns Sunbelt Rentals in the US.
