Access 20 reveals extent of growth

Total sales from the top 20manufacturers in 2006 are estimatedto be $6.5 billion, a 35% rise on the$4.8 billion in 2005. Sales by the topthree self–propelled manufacturers– Genie, JLG and Haulotte –rose byaround 40% to $3.7 billion, or 57%of the Access 20 sales.

The five fastest growing companieswere OP Pagliero (+45%), AlimakHek (+43%), Snorkel (+41%), Genie(+37%) and Haulotte (+35%).

The list also offers a hint of howthe industry may change in thedecades to come, with the first everChinese company, GJJ, entering atnumber 14 with sales of $69 millionlast year. The company is the largestproducer of hoists in China and isnow looking at export markets –thecompany will exhibit at Bauma.
